The KV-1 was a Soviet heavy tank known for exceptional armor that was largely immune to early German anti-tank weapons. While formidable in 1941, it was plagued by a notoriously unreliable transmission, poor ergonomics, and excessive weight (roughly 42–45 tons). Over 2,700 were produced, with 76.2mm firepower.
